#1 Best Alternative: This Isn’t Bacon
We LOVE This Isn’t Bacon. Crispy and chewy like the real thing, great taste, high in plant-based protein, and fortified with iron and vitamin B12! The texture is where this one hits home.
Plus, they managed to fool people into thinking Ed Sheeran was serving them chicken from a food truck…so they’ve got our vote!
#2 Second Favourite: Vegan Cartel – Vegan Bacon
Vegan Cartel Bacon is insane! High in protein and a source of vitamin B12 and iron, these rashers also have a delicious flavour and amazing texture.
It has 26% more protein than real bacon and the branding is frickin’ awesome.
Buy buy buy!
Salty, chewy, smoky, yummy little pieces of goodness. These come a close third, as we think the flavour of these bacon pieces is fabulous!

These rashers sizzle and colour nicely when fried. Great for a bacon sarnie!
Doesn’t really taste or have the texture of bacon other than the smoky maple flavours. Nevertheless, these are delicious and they’re a great substitute if you’re looking for a protein hit!
This vegan alternative is probably one of the more bland options, but it delivers on texture and protein! Just make sure you add loads of BBQ sauce.

Hmm…we haven’t tried this one yet (which is surprising since Alice lived in Korea for a couple of years) but we hear that it’s one of the best.

These bad boys can be flavoured however you want and fry up nice and crispy. Give them a try!
3. Tofu Bacon
Who doesn’t love tofu? Simple and easy recipe to follow with lots of protein.
4. Aubergine Bacon
Another great plant-based alternative. Simply slice, brush with sauce, and bake.
5. Seitan Bacon
Seitan (or vital wheat gluten) is a bit of a faff, but certainly worth the effort!
6. Coconut Bacon Pieces
These vegan coconut bacon pieces are great for sprinkling on top of meals. Scrummy!
