🎵 Vitl is vital. Health is wealth! 🎵
I couldn’t resist quoting Macka B (with a little artistic licence, of course) 😉 but seriously, he’s absolutely right: health truly is wealth! And, even though us vegans eat the healthiest diet on the planet (well, if you’re eating lots of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes and whole grains instead of daily Mc’Plants, that is!), we should all still be taking supplements.
But don’t fall into the trap of taking multivitamins! Our nutritional needs are as unique as we are, so our supplements should be too. That’s where Vitl comes in.
Vitl offers personalised supplements designed specifically for you. In my review, I’ll discuss what makes Vitl different from all the other supplement companies out there and whether or not it’s worth giving them a try.
Summary
Vitl provides a comprehensive health and lifestyle quiz to create personalised supplements that generally fit well with nutritional requirements. The supplements are free from undesirable additives, like bulking agents and artificial ingredients. Whilst they come in blister packs, Vitl offers a free recycling program to minimise waste. If you select vegan in the quiz, all of your supplements will be 100% vegan but Vitl is not a vegan company. Also, be aware that you can’t make adjustments to your personalised formulations and there is sometimes an overlap of certain vitamins.
Pros
- Personalised supplements
- Free from undesirables
- Labelled by day
- Vegan-friendly
- Recycling scheme for blister packs
- Comes in a really cute box that opens like a drawer
Cons
- Some vitamins overlap between capsules
- Non-adjustable formulations
- Not a vegan company 😢
- More pricey than multivitamins or VEG1

Can't I just take a multivitamin?
Unless your GP has specifically recommended it, or you’ve recently undergone weight loss surgery, are on a low-calorie diet or are unable to get sufficient nutrients from food alone, taking a multivitamin might not be the best option (always check with a health professional first!). Most of us already receive a wide range of vitamins through our diets and taking a multivitamin can potentially cause more harm than good by creating imbalances or interfering with the absorption of other nutrients or medications. Furthermore, there is little evidence to support the health benefits of multivitamins and studies have found they don’t lower the risk of mortality. Our nutritional needs are unique, shaped by numerous factors such as our genetics, diets and lifestyles. It’s better to focus on getting the specific nutrients we may lack rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach!
Vitl Review
Vitl who?
Vitl is a science-backed wellbeing brand based in the UK. They offer personalised supplement subscriptions that fit through the letterbox, as well as probiotics, vitamin stacks developed for specific health benefits and add-ons such as DNA and blood test services. You can also buy a 40 minute consultation with an expert to get nutrition recommendations personalised to your health goals.
How it works
You can start your Vitl wellbeing journey with the personalised online quiz. A lot of supplement brands seem to offer this feature now but I found Vitl’s quiz to be particularly intuitive and comprehensive. It asks questions about diet, lifestyle and mental health, all of which are important factors to consider when thinking about your nutrient requirements.
What I love about VItl
It's pretty personal
Whilst it’s impossible to learn everything about you from a single quiz, I found Vitl’s AI-powered software to be quite thorough, covering many of the key factors that influence nutritional needs. After completing the quiz, your results are revealed, starting with a positive note on what you’re already doing well – how nice! I do love a little ego boost! Then, you’ll see your top recommended nutrients, each accompanied by an explanation of why they were chosen for you.
And if you know me, you’ll know I’m a scientist who loves a good study! Vitl provides a selection of scientific research papers supporting your specific nutrient recommendations, so you can easily verify the basis for your personalised formulations. Pretty cool, right?
Intuitive
Vitl has made things super intuitive, which I really appreciate! The blister packs are clearly labelled with the days of the week, so you always know whether you’ve taken your capsules for a specific day (great for really forgetful people, like me). And if you ever need to make changes to your routine, Vitl’s online platform makes it incredibly easy to pause or cancel your subscription anytime. No hassle, no fuss, just straightforward and user-friendly.
I also love the pull-out drawer box the supplements come in 😅 I haven’t figured out exactly what to repurpose it for yet but I’m determined to find a use. If you have any creative ideas, please share them in the comments below!
Quality ingredients
Vitl supplements are free from synthetic fillers, bulking agents, sugar, gluten, artificial colours and preservatives. Plus, they use only the most bioavailable forms of nutrients to ensure maximum absorption. If you specify your dietary requirements during the quiz, they’ll tailor your formulations to include only suitable ingredients.
That said, I wish they made all their supplements vegan. Algae-based omega-3 provides both essential fatty acids (EPA and DHA), just like fish oil but without the fish. It’s a win for everyone, including the ocean!
What I don't love about Vitl
Non-adjustable formulations
One drawback of Vitl is the lack of flexibility in adjusting the formulations. Their quiz provides a general overview of your diet but it doesn’t capture every detail, so there can be an overlap of vitamins across different supplement capsules. For example, I’ve been recommended to take four different capsules daily and three of them contain vitamin B6. Consuming too much of certain vitamins, like B6, can cause problems if the total intake is too high. My diet is already rich in B6 so it’s something I need to watch out for.
Unfortunately, there isn’t an option to customise the formulations yet. It would be great if they offered this flexibility in the future! They seem to be quite open to feedback though, based on their Trustpilot responses.
Pricey
Vitl are a tad on the pricey side, at £39.95 a month. But, considering you get all your personalised supplements in one subscription rather than buying them separately, which would cost a small fortune, it can still be a good deal for what you’re getting. Plus, if you’re interested in trying them out, you can use my 30% off discount code, which is valid for the first 3 months!
Vegan Sisters' verdict
In addition to the cute little secret drawer box they come in, Vitl’s vitamins have a lot going for them! The AI-powered health and lifestyle quiz is thorough and well-designed, the personalised supplements generally align with my nutritional needs and they are free from synthetic fillers, bulking agents, sugar, gluten, artificial colours and preservatives.
The supplements come in blister packs, which might feel a bit outdated, but Vitl offers a free recycling service (you can find out more in their FAQs).
It’s a bit disappointing that you can’t customise the formulations and the relatively high price point may be a drawback for some. Nevertheless, with the added benefit of a discount code, Vitl is definitely worth considering if you’re looking for a comprehensive, all-in-one, personalised supplement solution with easy-to-use daily packs and flexible subscription service.
