What is a vegan lifestyle?

Veganism is so much more than just a diet; it’s a lifestyle choice. One that seeks to exclude all forms of exploitation (of any living creature, human or otherwise) and to grow awareness of how to live more compassionately.

A vegan lifestyle extends far beyond the food we put on our plates or the beauty products we put on our skin. Instead, it is the decision we make to be mindful of our surroundings and the impact we have on this planet 🌍

Of course, there’s no such thing as a perfect vegan, but we can try our best to be the change we wish to see in the world.

Is a vegan lifestyle healthy?

Short answer: yes 🍅 🥝 🥕 🌾 🥦 🍊 🍆  if conducted in a balanced way.

By taking a more mindful and compassionate approach to the way we live, a vegan lifestyle is one that chooses diverse and nutritious plant-based foods. Want to know more? Here are 5 health benefits you might notice after adopting a vegan diet.

What’s more, adopting a vegan lifestyle can have a positive impact on the environment, subsequently promoting public health. For example, the elimination of factory farms will significantly reduce the likelihood of pandemics like COVID-19.

Is a vegan lifestyle sustainable?

A vegan lifestyle often goes hand-in-hand with living sustainably.

In fact, a recent study of 34,442 French adults by the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) found that those with diets rich in plant-based foods had a significantly lower environmental impact. This was measured in greenhouse gas emissions, cumulative energy demand, and land occupation.

Nevertheless, we must be mindful of how we scale the production of vegan industries. It’s our responsibility to make sure we don’t lapse into complacency simply because we follow a plant-based lifestyle.

Let’s continue to be mindful and strive to always do better for the health of people and planet.

Is it hard to lead a vegan lifestyle?

Any change you make to your lifestyle will present its challenges and adopting a vegan one is no different. However, it’s not as difficult as you might think. 

After we went vegan, most of our family made the transition also, check out our vegan mum!

The important thing is not to be too hard on yourself and never be afraid to ask for help or advice (we’re always here if you need us)!
